HM The Queen has appointed Thomas Scott to be a Salaried Judge of the Upper Tribunal, assigned to the Tax and Chancery Chamber, on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, The Right Honourable David Gauke MP. He will take up post from 1 December 2018.

Notes to editors

Thomas Scott, aged 60, will be known as Upper Tribunal Judge Scott. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1983. He was appointed as a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Tax Chamber and as a fee-paid Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal, Tax and Chancery Chamber both in 2015.
