Appointment of a High Court Judge: Warby

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Mark David John Warby QC to be a Justice of the High Court with effect from 10 June 2014 on the retirement of Mr Justice Tugendhat.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Mr Warby to the Queen’s Bench Division.

Notes for Editors

Mr Warby, 55, was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1981 and took Silk in 2002. He was appointed a Recorder in 2009 and is approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge.

Mr Justice Tugendhat was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1969 and took Silk in 1986. He was appointed a Recorder in 1994 and a judge of the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court in 2003.
