Circuit Judge Appointment: Backhouse

The Queen has appointed Wendy Margaret Backhouse to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Maidstone Combined Court Centre with effect from 22 January 2018.

Notes to editors

Wendy Margaret Backhouse, aged 59, will be known as Her Honour Judge Backhouse. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1991, appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2000 and appointed a District Judge in 2005.
