Circuit Judge Appointment: Richard E. Williams

The Queen has appointed Richard Evan Huw Williams to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Wales Circuit, based at Cardiff Crown Court with effect from 22 May 2018.

Richard Evan Huw Williams, aged 59 will be known as His Honour Judge Richard E Williams. He was called to the Bar (L) in 1992. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2000, as a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2004 and as a Recorder in 2012.
