The Queen has appointed Paul David Southern to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Snaresbrook Crown Court with effect from 22 January 2018.

Paul David Southern will be known as His Honour Judge Southern. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1979. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 1999, as a Salaried Immigration Adjudicator of the Immigration Appellate Authority (now known as Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2003, as a Senior Immigration Judge of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (now known as Salaried Judge of the Upper Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2006 and as a Member of the Special Immigration Appeals Commission in 2013.
