Court of Appeal: Retirement of Lady Justice Gloster DBE

Lady Justice Gloster DBE retires as Lady Justice of Appeal with effect from 1 June 2018.

Dame Elizabeth Gloster DBE (68) was called to the Bar (I) in 1971, took Silk in 1989 and was elected a Bencher in 1992. She was appointed a Judge of the Courts of Appeal of Jersey and Guernsey in 1993, a Recorder in 1995, a Judge of the High Court, Queens Bench Division (Commercial Court) in 2004 and the Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court in 2010. She was appointed as a Lady Justice of Appeal in 2013 when she was sworn as a Privy Councillor.  She was appointed Vice-President of the Court of Appeal (Civil Division) in 2016.
