Lord Justice Tomlinson retires as Lord Justice of Appeal with effect from 11 January 2017

Sir Stephen Miles Tomlinson (64) was called to the Bar in 1974, took Silk in 1988 and elected a Bencher in 1990. He was Treasurer of the Inner Temple in 2014. He was appointed a Recorder in 1995, a Deputy High Court Judge in 1996 and a Judge of the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2000. He was Judge in charge of the Commercial Court from 2003 to 2004 and Chairman of the Association of Average Adjusters in 2009. He was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal in 2010.
