Designated Civil Judge Appointment: Emma Kelly

The Queen has appointed Emma Louise Kelly to be a Senior Circuit Judge, Designated Civil Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Midland Circuit, based at Birmingham Civil and Family Justice Centre with effect from 18 January 2021.

Background information:

Emma Louise Kelly, aged 46, will be known as Her Honour Judge Emma Kelly. She was called to the Bar (L) in 1997. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2010, as a District Judge in 2015 and a Recorder in 2018.
