District Judge Appointment: Alan Johns QC

The Queen has appointed Alan Grant Johns QC to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Elizabeth Truss MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at the Central London County Court and the Mayor’s and City of London Court with effect from 31 October 2016.

Alan Grant Johns QC, aged 44, will be known as District Judge Alan Johns QC. He was called to the Bar (G) in 1994. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2010 and as a Fee-paid Lawyer Chairman of the Rent Assessment Panel (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-Tier Tribunal, Property Chamber) in 2011.
