District Judge Appointment: Ireland

The Queen has appointed Penelope Jane Ireland to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Western Circuit, based at Exeter County Court sitting at Exeter and Barnstaple, with effect from 9 April 2018.

Notes to editors

Penelope Jane Ireland, aged 43, will be known as District Judge Ireland. She was called to the Bar (G) in 1996. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2010.
