The Queen has appointed Najma Mian to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Michael Gove MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Midland Circuit, based at Birmingham Civil Justice Centre with effect from 23 February 2016.

Notes to editors

Najma Mian, aged 50, will be known as District Judge Mian. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1993 and was called to the Bar (G) in 2006. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2005.
