District Judge Appointment: Murphy

The Queen has appointed Peter Murphy to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Michael Gove MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed his to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Halifax County Court with effect from 13th April 2016.

Notes to editors

Peter Murphy, aged 59, will be known as District Judge Murphy. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1986. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2002.
