District Judge Appointment: Rome

The Queen has appointed Edel Briege Rome to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Northern Circuit with effect from 4 March 2019. She will be based at Preston Combined Court Centre.

Notes to editors 

Edel Briege Rome, aged 45, will be known as District Judge Rome. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 2000 and was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2013.
