District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Joanne Hazel Alderson retires with effect from 1 June 2014.

District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Alderson (60) was called to the Bar (M) in 1978. She was appointed as Legal Adviser, West Midlands Prosecuting Solicitors Department from 1977 to 1978, as Court Clerk/Principal Assistant at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court from 1978 to 1985, and as Deputy Clerk to Warley Justices from 1985 to 1986, and to Wolverhampton Justices from 1986 to 1997. She was appointed an Acting Provincial Stipendiary Magistrate in 1994, as Deputy Chief Executive to Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court Committee from 1995 to 1997 and a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) (formally Stipendiary Magistrate) in 1997.
