We anticipate announcing membership of the TIG on Friday 3 December 2021.
On 29 October 2021, the President of the Family Division launched his Report on the Transparency Review in the Family Courts (link, opens in a new tab).
The Transparency Implementation Group (TIG) will manage, pilot and evaluate the implementation of the recommendations of the report.
Leadership of the TIG:

Mrs Justice Lieven Co-Chair of the TIG
Family Circuit Judge Co-Chair of the TIG
Membership of the TIG will include those essential to the efficient implementation of the recommendations. TIG membership selection will be conducted by EOIs (judicial and public) and direct appointment for specific roles.
Application process & timeline
Expressions of interest are welcomed from those with expertise/experience in the following areas.
Academia – Family Justice System with Transparency as area of interest/research
Family Practitioner (Barrister)
Family Practitioner (Solicitor)
Media Representative x 2- Journalist/legal blogger
Please note that membership of the TIG will require participation (in person or remote) at regular meetings, close team working with a range of parties, drafting and production of documents under time pressure and may include e.g. presentations to senior members of the judiciary and senior stakeholders.
A significant time commitment will be required, including participation in regular meetings for approximately 12-18 months.
The EOI is open from Wednesday 17th November and closes at 4pm on Friday 26th November 2021.
EOIs should be sent to: pfd.office@judiciary.uk. EOIs will be considered by a panel and recommendations made to the PFD for appointment to the TIG. Those invited to join the TIG will be contacted during w/c 29th November 2021.
Please note, EOIs should be no more than 1 page of A4, written in 12pt font.
