High Court Judge Appointment: Lieven QC

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of a Justice of the High Court. The appointment will take effect from 11 January 2019. It is anticipated that a further appointment will be announced in the coming months.

The candidate approved as a High Court Judge is Nathalie Lieven QC.

This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements. Nathalie Marie Daniella Lieven QC

Nathalie Marie Daniella Lieven QC, aged 54, will be known as The Honourable Mrs Justice Lieven. She was Called to the Bar (G) in 1989 and took Silk in 2006. She was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2016. She will take up appointment on 11 January 2019 consequential to the retirement of Mrs Justice Pauffley.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Nathalie Marie Daniella Lieven QC to the Family Division.
