The Honourable Dame Laura Cox DBE retires from the High Court (Queen’s Bench) with effect from 12 November 2016.

Dame Laura Cox DBE (65) was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1975, took Silk in 1994 and was elected a Bencher in 1999. She was appointed a Recorder in 1995, was the British Member of the International Labour Organisation Committee of Experts from 1998 to 2013, and a member of the Council of JUSTICE until 2002. She was appointed a Judge of the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2002, was Chair of the Equal Treatment Advisory Committee (Judicial Studies Board) from 2003 to 2011 and Chair of the Judicial Skills courses at the Judicial College until 2016. She was appointed as the Honorary President of the Association of Women Barristers in 2005, and as Vice-President of the UK Association of Women Judges in 2013.
