The Honourable Sir Jeremy (Lionel) Cooke retires from the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) with effect from 10 May 2016.

Sir Jeremy Cooke (67) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1973, called to the Bar (L) in 1976, took Silk in 1990 and elected as a Bencher in 2001. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1994 and a Recorder in 1998. He was appointed a Judge of the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2001, a Judge of the Commercial Court from 2003 to 2012 and Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court from 2012 to 2014. He was appointed Presiding Judge of the South Eastern Circuit from 2007 to 2011 and President of the East Sussex Magistrates’ Association from 2009 to 2013.
