High Court: Retirement of The Honourable Sir (Roger) John Royce

The Honourable Sir (Roger) John Royce retires from the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) with effect from 28 August 2014.

Sir (Roger) John Royce (70) was called to the Bar (G) in 1970, elected as a Bencher in 1997 and took Silk in 1987. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1982, a Recorder in 1986 and approved to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge (Queen’s Bench Division) in 1993. He was appointed Leader of the Western Circuit from 1998 to 2001, a Judge of the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division, in 2002 and Presiding Judge of the Western Circuit from 2006 to 2010.
