The Lord Chief Justice has announced, in concurrence with the Lord Chancellor, the appointment of three Presiding Judges.
Mr Justice Green has been appointed to the South Eastern Circuit where he will succeed Mr Justice Singh.
Mr Justice Goss has been appointed to North Eastern Circuit where he will succeed Mr Justice Globe.
Mrs Justice May has been appointed to the Western Circuit where she will succeed Mr Justice Teare.
These appointments are made from 1 January 2017, when the current Presiding Judges step down, to 31 December 2020.

Mr Justice Green was called to the Bar, Inner Temple in 1986 and took Silk in 1998; a Recorder in 2004 and a High Court Judge (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2013.
Mr Justice Goss was called to the Bar, Inner Temple in 1975 and took Silk in 1997. He was appointed a Recorder in 1994, a Circuit Judge in 2009 and a Senior Circuit Judge in 2011, and a High Court Judge (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2014.
Mrs Justice May was called to the Bar, Inner Temple in 1988 and took Silk in 2008. She was appointed a Recorder in 2002, a Circuit Judge in 2008 and a High Court Judge (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2015.
Presiding Judges are responsible for the deployment of the judiciary and allocation of cases on their Circuit. They also have a responsibility for general supervision of judges on their circuits.
