Speech by President of the Family Division: Nicholas Wall Memorial Lecture 2019

I first met Nicholas Wall at some time after he had taken silk in 1988. During the period of 5 years prior to his appointment to the Family Division in 1993, Nicholas was my first choice as a leader on the few occasions when I, as a young Birmingham hack, had a case requiring the ‘weapons grade’ advocacy skills of a QC.
