In July 2019, the Chancellor of the High Court, Sir Geoffrey Vos, spoke at Northumbria University of the preparatory work being undertaken by the LawTech Delivery Panel and its UK Jurisdiction Taskforce, of which he is chair, to demonstrate that English law and UK jurisdiction can provide a foundation for the development of distributed ledger technology and smart contracts, amongst other technologies.
