Appointment of a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal: Povey

The Senior President of Tribunals, The Right Honourable Sir Ernest Ryder, has appointed Stephen Allan Povey to be a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber.

He will be based at the Newport Venue with effect from 10th September 2018.

 Stephen Allan Povey, aged 49, was admitted as a Solicitor in 1996. He was appointed as a fee-paid Chairman in the Residential Property Tribunal (Wales) in 2008, as a fee-paid Employment Judge in the Employment Tribunal in England and Wales in 2010, as a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal in the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2013 and assigned as a fee-paid Judge to the First-tier Tribunal in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber in 2014.
