Upper Tribunal Judge Nigel Robert Poole retires with effect from 9 July 2016.

Upper Tribunal Judge Poole (67) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1975. He was appointed a part-time Chairman of the Tribunal (Social Security Appeal Tribunals) in 1984, a part-time Chairman of the Tribunal (Child Support Appeals Tribunal) in 1993, a part-time Immigration Adjudicator in 1995, a Special Immigration Adjudicator in 1996 and a Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals in 1999. He was appointed a full-time Immigration Adjudicator in 2000 and a Regional Adjudicator (now known as Resident Judge) in 2003. He was appointed a Senior Immigration Judge in 2005 (now known as Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration Appeals Chamber)).
