Vice-President of the Queen’s Bench Division appointed

The Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, in consultation with the Lord Chancellor, has appointed The Right Honourable Lady Justice Sharp to be the Vice-President of the Queen’s Bench Division with effect from 1 January 2016.

The Rt Hon Lady Justice Victoria Sharp (59) was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1979 and was appointed a QC in 2001. She was appointed a Recorder in 1998, and became a judge of the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division in January 2009; she was a Presiding Judge on the Western Circuit from 2012 to 2013, and she was elevated to the Court of Appeal in October 2013. The appointment of Vice-President of the Queen’s Bench Division is for three years from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2018.
