In relation to the above numbered case on 24 February 2020, District Judge Cope sitting at Bristol Magistrates’ Court was satisfied that Nicola Martin had been guilty of contempt of court by disobeying the order of 30 August 2019. The order provided that the defendant was forbidden from;

– entering an area outline in red on a map and

– sitting loitering or approaching any person for the purpose of begging anywhere in the city of Bristol.

The defendant admitted 31 breaches of the above order. The penalty imposed was a suspended custodial sentence of 12 weeks.
