WHEREAS Patricia Shorthouse has been suspected of a breach of the order dated 13th December 2019 and has been arrested by a constable and brought before the Judge under Section 9(1) of the Anti-Social Crime and Policing Act 2014

 

IT IS ORDERED THAT

Patricia Shorthouse be committed for contempt to Her Majesty’s Prison (be detained under section 9(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1982) at Eastwood Park, Wotton-Under-Edge, Gloucestershire, GL12 8DB for a period of 198 days or until lawfully discharged if sooner.

 

AND the contemnor can apply to the Court to purge her contempt and ask for release.

 

AND IT IS ORDERED THAT

 

There be no order as to costs

 

AT THE HEARING the Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall Police was represented by solicitor and Patricia Shorthouse appeared personally and was represented by solicitor

 

THE COURT READ the witness statement of PC Chris Smoothy 5725 dated 29th December 2019

 

AND THE COURT IS SATISFIED having considered the facts disclosed y the evidence that Patricia Shorthouse has been guilty of contempt of this Court by disobeying the order dated 13th December 2019 by

 

On the 28th December 2019 the Defendant entered the town of Torquay in breach of paragraph 2 of the order dated 13th December 2019.

 

AND FOR THE PARTICULAR CONTEMPT THE COURT IMPOSED THE

PENALTY OF

 

7 days imprisonment to run concurrently with the 198 days imposed by the order of 13th December 2019.
