Committal for Contempt of Court in Open Court at Pontypridd: Addison

Case number: F05MA400

At Pontypridd County Court

17 January 2020

District Judge Barcello

Pursuant to paragraph 13 of Practice Direction: Committal for Contempt of Court – Open Court

In relation to case number F05MA400 on 17th January 2020, at Pontypridd County Court I, District Judge Barcello sentence John Addison, to a suspended custodial sentence of a total period of 9 weeks for contempt of court. The basis of that sentence was that Mr Addison committed 4 breaches of an injunction order dated 31st October 2019 on 18th November 2019 and a further breach on the 13th December 2019. I determined that of the breaches committed on the 18th November 2019, a custodial sentence was necessary for direct threats made to a vulnerable neighbour, amounting to 6 weeks imprisonment and that for the breach made whilst on bail on the 13th December 2019 causing further nuisance and annoyance to a neighbour, a consecutive sentence of 3 weeks custody was necessary. I made no order in respect of 3 further breaches committed on the 18th November 2019. I determined that it was appropriate for the custodial sentence to be suspended until the conclusion of the injunction order, upon the condition that the terms of the order are not further breached.
