In the matter of The Chief Constable of Lancashire Constabulary v Dil Nawaz & Others – case number F00PR208

District Judge Burrow sentenced Dil Nawaz to a suspended committal order for contempt of court. The basis of that sentence was that Dil Nawaz admitted breaching an Order made by the court on 14 February 2019 pursuant to S34 of the Policing and Crime Act 2009. The breaches admitted and sentences imposed were as follows:

  1. 23.07.19 – being in possession of a mobile telephone which had not been registered with the police in breach of prohibition d of the injunction order – a sentence imposed of 28 days.
  2. 18.09.19 – being in possession of a mobile telephone which had not been registered with the police in breach of prohibition d of the injunction order – a sentence imposed of 28 days.
  3. 10.10.19 – being in possession of a mobile telephone which had not been registered with the police in breach of prohibition d of the injunction order – a sentence imposed of 28 days.

The court directed that the sentences should run concurrently resulting in a total suspended committal order of 28 days.
