Chief Coroner’s Annual Report 2013-14

The Lord Chancellor has today laid before parliament and published, under section 36(6) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, the first annual report of the Chief Coroner to the Lord Chancellor, for the year 2013-2014.
This is the Chief Coroner’s first annual report to the Lord Chancellor. Section 36 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (the 2009 Act) provides that the Chief Coroner must give the Lord Chancellor a report for each calendar year. Section 36 came into force on 25 July 2013.
