On 18th June 2015, His Honour Judge Armitage QC found Daniella Barton guilty of contempt of court.
After a trial the judge found that on 4 occasions from 21st February 2015 to 5th April 2015 (giving rise to 10 individual proven breaches of a prohibitory injunction granted on the 9th January 2015) Daniella Barton had behaved by words and deeds in such a way as to be variously capable of causing nuisance or annoyance or abusive insulting of threatening to amount to the actual or threatened use of violence, in all instances toother residents of Willowbank Hostel, Manchester.

For these contempts the judge sentenced Daniella Barton to serve a total of 7 days’ imprisonment for each less serious breach (to be served concurrently) and 14 days’ imprisonment for each more serious breach (to be served concurrently) with grouped periods of 7 and 14 days to be served consecutively, making 21 days in all, the sentences to be suspended on condition that no further breach in the remaining period of the injunction is proved.
