Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Burton

Catherine Burton qualified as a solicitor at Simmons & Simmons in 1993.  She spent the majority of her career specialising in restructuring and insolvency work for DLA Piper’s International Restructuring Group, latterly leading its specialist team of professional support lawyers.

She was a member of the UK delegation at UNCITRAL for its work on cross border group enterprise insolvency, served as a member of the Treasury’s Bank Liaison Panel (whose statutory role us to consider secondary legislation for insolvent banks and financial institutions) served for eight years as a member of the Bankruptcy and Companies Court Users Committee, and for over twelve years as a member of R3’s General Technical Committee.

While in private practice she edited DLA Piper’s quarterly international restructuring journal, Global Insight.
