Judge Mark Sutherland Williams

Judge Mark Sutherland WilliamsJudge Mark Sutherland Williams was appointed as the President of the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber and as a Judge of the Upper Tribunal in April 2020.

He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1995 and to the Bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands) in 2010.

He was appointed as a fee-paid Judge of the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2002, as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber in 2011 and as a Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal in the Administrative Appeals Chamber in 2014.

He was appointed as Resident Judge of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber at Hatton Cross, London in 2017, and appointed as a Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber in 2018. He is co-author of ‘Millington and Sutherland Williams on the Proceeds of Crime’ (OUP).
