Upper Tribunal Judge Plimmer was born and educated in Trinidad and Tobago before attending Bristol University. She was a barrister specialising in public law and is now a Judge of the Upper Tribunal in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber (UTIAC). She is authorised to sit as a Judge of the High Court in Family and in the Queen’s Bench Division (including the Administrative Court). She also sits in the Senior Judges’ Court of the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia (in Cyprus). Judge Plimmer has particular interest in judicial training and diversity and inclusion. As well as being the UTIAC Training Judge, she is the Chair of the Tribunals Committee in the Judicial College and is a member of the Judicial College Board. She is a judicial mentor, a Diversity and Community Relations Judge and a member of the Senior President for Tribunals’ Diversity Taskforce.
