The office of coroner is known to have existed since at least 1194 and has a rich and varied history. Do you know why coroners are the only locally funded part of the judiciary, or why coroners conduct inquests into both death and treasure? On Wednesday 22 November 2023 at 5pm, the Chief Coroner, HHJ Thomas Teague KC, will be giving a virtual and in-person lecture on the history and development of the coronial service, and providing insights into its achievements and challenges.
