The Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill, and the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Norris MP, were saddened to learn of the death of Employment Judge Jonathan Gray on 8 September 2026.

Background information

Judge Gray was admitted as a Solicitor in 1998. He was appointed as a Salaried Employment Judge in 2019 and as a Deputy Chair of the Central Arbitration Committee in 2024. He was a Diversity and Community Relations Judge from April 2026. He was also Vice-President of the Council of Employment Judges.
