The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) will be launching a selection exercise on 18 June 2024 to recruit Fee-paid First Tier Tribunal Judges. Read more about the Tribunal Judge role and this selection exercise.
This pre-application seminar is aimed at candidates interested in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber.
There will be a separate pre-application seminar for those interested in Social Entitlement, Heath, Education and Social Care and the War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chambers on 10 June 2024 between 5-6pm. If you are interested in attending the seminar on 10 June, you will need to sign up separately. Further details will follow.
The seminar
The Judicial Office is organising a pre-application seminar that will take place online via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 4 June 2024 between 5-6pm.
The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as the JAC, you will also hear from Judge Plimmer, Judge Munonyedi and Judge Shepherd.

Who should attend?
Judicial office holders and practitioners from all backgrounds (including CILEX lawyers) who have five years’ legal post qualification experience are welcome to attend.
Training will be provided for all successful appointments.
