The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) will be launching a selection exercise in July to recruit Fee-paid Judges of the First-tier Tribunal, Property Chamber.
The seminar
The Judicial Office is organising a pre-application seminar that will take place online via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 24 June 2025 5-6pm.
The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as the JAC, you will also hear fromPresident of the Property Chamber Judge McGrath and current tribunal judges.
Message from President of the Property Chamber Judge McGrath:
“We are pleased to be working with the JAC to recruit additional fee-paid judges for the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber). This recruitment exercise is specifically for practitioners who work in landlord and tenant, housing and property law. The work of the Chamber is varied and challenging and we are likely to see an increase in the number of applications and appeals that we receive from the significant legislative changes that may be introduced under the Leasehold and Freehold and Reform Act 2024 and the Renters Rights Bill that is currently making its way through Parliament.”
Who should attend?
Judicial office holders and practitioners from all backgrounds (including CILEX lawyers) who have five years’ legal post qualification experience are welcome to attend.
