Lord Justice Holroyde, Vice-President of the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, says in his foreword to the review: “I am grateful to all the judges who have sat in the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division. I would particularly mention the Circuit Judges who are authorised to sit with us: we are greatly assisted by their experience and their expertise in the day to day work of the Crown Court.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the Registrar and to the Criminal Appeal Office staff for their unwavering commitment in ensuring that the work of the court continues to be carried out as smoothly as possible, and in ensuring that a high quality service is provided to users and the public. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and efficient team.”
