King’s Bench Guide 2026
The King’s Bench Guide 2026, a guide to the working practices of the King’s Bench Division, has been published today (Monday 16 March 2026).
The 12th edition provides updated practical information for those practising or litigating in the King’s Bench Division.
This year’s changes include reference to the new governing Practice Direction 5C for CE File, the inclusion of information about the Pro Bono Trial Advocacy Scheme, and the removal of the annex on enrolling deeds because the guidance is now available online.
In her foreword, The Rt Hon. Dame Victoria Sharp reflects on her tenure and thanks the judges, Masters, staff, and wider professional community for their contributions to the work of the Division. She notes the significant developments during recent years, including the transition to digital systems and the resilience shown during the pandemic.
Senior Master Cook acknowledges the work of Master Armstrong, the support of colleagues and staff across the Division in preparing this edition. He encourages feedback from practitioners to assist future revisions.
