Mr Justice Bright
Robert Andrew Bright became one of the judges of the Commercial Court in 2023.
He is also authorised to sit in the Administrative Court and other King’s Bench work, including crime.
Mr Justice Bright read law at Oxford University. He was called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn in 1987. He practised as a barrister at 7 King’s Bench Walk from 1988, acting in a broad range of commercial disputes He also acted as arbitrator, predominantly dealing with international commercial arbitrations, many of them in various overseas jurisdictions.
He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2006. In 2018 he was appointed as a Recorder, sitting in crime on the Western Circuit. In 2023 he was appointed as a High Court Judge assigned to the King’s Bench Division.
