Adam Constable became a Judge of the Technology and Construction Court in 2023.

He is authorised to sit in the Technology and Construction Court and the Administration Court as well other King’s Bench work, including crime.

Mr Justice Constable was educated at Trinity School, Croydon before reading Jurisprudence at Balliol College, Oxford. He graduated in 1994 (MA, First Class).

Adam was called to the bar in 1995 by Inner Temple. He completed his pupillage at 2 Temple Gardens, moving to Keating Chambers in 2002 practicing as a barrister and arbitrator specialising in construction, energy, shipbuilding and related professional negligence and insurance matters both domestically and internationally.

He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (now King’s Counsel) in 2011 and as a Recorder before this, in 2009. He was then appointed as a High Court Judge in 2023, when he was assigned to the King’s Bench Division.

Adam is Judicial Governing Bencher at Inner Temple, a member of the Executive Committee and Assistant Master of the Cellars. From 2017 to 2023, he was Governor and Chair of Finance and Operations at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, taking an active role in the development and growth of the ICCA Bar Course.  He is the chair of the Building Safety Act working group. He is also the general editor of Keating on Offshore Construction and Marine Engineering (1st – 3rd editions) and co-authored Litigation in the TCC.
