Mr Justice Kerr (Tim Kerr) began practice at the Bar in 1985 after completion of pupillage. His practice was in the fields of administrative law, employment law, pensions, education law, local government law and sports related disciplinary tribunals and arbitrations. He took silk in 2001 and sat as a part time chairman of employment tribunals from 2001 to 2006.

He was appointed as a recorder in 2008 and became a deputy High Court judge, sitting in the Chancery Division, in 2013. He was appointed as a High Court judge in June 2015, assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division (now King’s Bench Division).
