The Senior President of Tribunals, with the approval of the Lord Chancellor, has issued a Practice Direction to prescribe the use of forms for proceedings in the General Regulatory Chamber (GRC) of the First-tier Tribunal (F-tT).

This Practice Direction applies to parties without representatives in the same way as it does to parties represented by lawyers.

The document sets out how – unless the Tribunal gives permission under paragraph 12 – appeals, references, originating applications and claims to the F-tT GRC must be started by (1) completing the specified form available from the gov.uk website, (2) sending the completed form to the Tribunal and, (3) if applicable, paying the specified fee.
