“In the Introduction to my first report last year, I referred to the need to find innovative and more effective ways of doing justice in a period of austerity. It looks as though the period of austerity is likely to continue for some time, so there continues to be a pressing need for innovation and increased efficiency on the part of the judiciary and administrators.
“In the contributions from the Chamber Presidents that make up this report you will be able to see how they are responding to this challenge whilst ensuring that we remain true to the Leggatt ideal that tribunals are there for the users, and not the other way around.”
