Technology and Construction Court (TCC) Guide 2026
The Technology and Construction Court (TCC) Guide 2026 has been published today (1 July 2026).
The Guide provides straightforward and practical guidance on the conduct of litigation in the TCC. Counsel and solicitors conducting cases in the TCC are expected to be familiar with the Guide and to follow both its letter and spirit.
The 2026 edition is the result of extensive consultation amongst the judges of the TCC and with a wide range of court users including the professional associations representing barristers and solicitors practising in this field.
The last edition of the Guide came out in October 2022. Although the 2026 edition builds on the work of that edition, a number of extensive changes have been made.
For the first time the Guide provides guidance on proceedings involving the Building Safety Act 2022, and the guidance in relation to procurement cases has been rewritten to take account of the Procurement Act 2023. The guidance on the work of the TCC outside London has also been substantially re-written and updated and, in addition, the Guide now addresses the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Extensive changes have been made throughout the body of the Guide. These are to reflect the developing practices of the TCC and in response to the suggestions made in consultation for revision of that practice so as best to meet the needs of court users.
