The Judicial College is pleased to announce an updated version of the Youth Defendants in the Crown Court bench book.
It was first published in March 2021. Several updated versions have been published since then.
This amendment reflects the law as of 1 October 2023 with a few more recent additional items.
It brings together in one place everything relating to young defendants that a Crown Court judge needs to know and it should be considered an essential judicial reference tool.
The Judicial College is grateful to Her Honour Judge Heather Norton and His Honour Judge Gareth Branston, the joint authors, the latter of whom should be congratulated on his recent elevation to the Circuit Bench.
