Youth Defendants in the Crown Court
The Judicial College is pleased to announce an updated version of the Youth Defendants in the Crown Court bench book.
It was first published in March 2021. An amended version was published to reflect the law as of 1 February 2022.
This amendment reflects the law as of 1 July 2022, to incorporate recent legislative changes, particularly the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2002 and the Judicial Review and Courts Act 2022.
It brings together in one place everything relating to young defendants that a Crown Court judge needs to know and it should be considered an essential judicial reference tool.
