Joint First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) Salaried and Fee-Paid Judges: Pre-application seminar 2026

Administrative Appeals Chamber (Upper Tribunal)TribunalsNews

The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) (external link) will be launching two selection exercises in the summer and autumn to recruit salaried and fee-paid judges to the First-tier Tribunal Property Chamber.

The seminar

The Judicial Office is organising a pre-application seminar for both exercises that will take place online via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 23 June 2026 (5pm to 6.15pm).

The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as the JAC, you will also hear from President of the Property Chamber Judge McGrath, a salaried judge and a fee-paid judge.

Who should attend?

Judicial office holders and legal practitioners from all backgrounds (including CILEX lawyers) who have five years’ post qualification experience are welcome to attend. Candidates are required to have knowledge of landlord and tenant and housing law.

For more information on the role, see the Tribunal Judges webpage.
