ORDER by Dan Squires KC sitting as Deputy High Court Judge
- Until further order, there shall be no publication of the identity of the Claimants, or of any matter liable to lead to their identification in connection with these proceedings.
- The Claimants shall be referred to as “AB” and “CD” in these proceedings which shall be known and listed as “The King on the Application of AB and CD v The City of Westminster”.
- The Claimants’ application to rely on the further evidence submitted on 5 January 2024 is adjourned to the start of the hearing on 17 January 2024.
- There is no order as to costs.
Reasons
- Given the evidence of potential harm to the Claimants if they are identified in connection with these proceedings, and in particular the letter from Northamptonshire Police of 20 October 2023, I consider that it is appropriate to order anonymity to secure the proper administration of justice and to protect the Claimants’ interests. I make that order bearing in mind the importance of principles of open justice.
- I consider that the application to rely on further evidence can, most appropriately, be dealt with at the commencement of the hearing on 17 January 2024.
